The area known as Zululand, lies 3 hours north of Durban along the spectacular Natal coastline. Zululand is dense with ancient Zulu culture and was the hunting ground for Zulu Kings, such as Shaka Zulu. Many old tales that have been passed down through the generations are still being told today.
This area is home to many different species including Nyala, Zebra, Kudu, White Rhino, Blue Wildebeest, Grey Duiker, Red Duiker, Bushpig, Warthog, Impala, Waterbuck and Livingstone Suni and it is also prolific in bird life. The main attraction in this area being Nyala, Livingstone Suni and Red Duiker. It is considered one of the best Nyala hunting areas in the country.
Mkhuze Reserve Tented Bush Camp
The Mkhuze Reserve Tented Lodge is for an adventurous experience in five "Hemingway" style East African Tents, each overlooking the Mkhuze River. The tents are built on wooden decks raised on stilts with beautiful views of the lush countryside. The facilities include a lounge, bar, boma and swimming pool. Starlit evenings are enjoyed in the boma and the sounds of the Zulu drumbeat beckon the pure spirit of Africa.
Each tent is completely private and well spaced apart, with its own freestanding Victorian bath in the en suite bathroom. The tents are air-conditioned and have their won game viewing deck with spectacular views of the lowveld bushveld and shimmering waters of the river.

Umkhumbi Tented Bush Camp
Umkhumbi Tented Bush Camp, which is situated in the Controlled Hunting Area, has four large completely separate safari tents, each containing two beds and en-suite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. The communal dining, lounge and bar area are separately situated on stilts, with a beautiful bush setting and outside, an open Boma for nice bonfires under the night beautiful night skies.
Kwa-Zulu Private Game Reserve
Kwa-Zulu Private Game Reserve is a Big 5 area in Northern Zululand. This reserve comprises of 18,500 hectares (45,000 acres) of unspoiled bush veld from savanna grasslands to towering mountains. Here we will have Big 5 on request, along with Kudu, Nyala and plenty other great plains game species.
